How to Link to a .pdf File from Your Web Page
In Four Easy Steps

To link to a .pdf file from your teacher web page:

1.  Locate the .pdf file you want to use (it should be in your teacher folder)

2.  Rename the .pdf file so that there are no spaces in the file name - it should be one word
- if you need two words separate them with an underscore i.e. Nov_Newsletter.pdf
- make sure your file has the".pdf" file extension at the end of the file name

3.  Upload the .pdf file to your home page folder
- you can either drag it into your home page folder OR
- open your home page folder, go to the FILE menu, and select UPLOAD to move the pdf file to your home page folder

4.  Open the web page you want to link from i.e. you Classroom News web page
- type a link in the body of the web page i.e. "Click here to see the November Newsletter"
- highlight "Click here to see the November Newsletter"
- right-click and select "Make Link" (see screen shot below)

- type the name of the .pdf file BEING SURE TO INCLUDE THE ".pdf" FILE EXTENSION TO THE LINK NAME in the "Target URL" window (see screen shot below) - then click OK - that's it!
