All students now have access to Study Island, a math program that students work through at their own pace. Due to limited time in the computer lab, students may work on this program from their home computers at www.studyisland.com. The math concepts are all TAKS related and fun to work through.
REMEMBER, YOU CAN USE YOUR MATH BOOK THAT YOU HAVE AT HOME TO HELP REVIEW ANY SKILLS YOU MIGHT BE HAVING TROUBLE WITH.
Homework Policy
Math homework is given out every Monday and is due on Friday. We will check the work in class and send home in Monday folders. A completion grade will be given and count as 15% of the students' math grade.
Please check for your child's math homework page in their Math folder. Weekly homework will always review what we do in class and helps prepare students for assessments that follow each unit. Practicing these objectives at home REALLY helps students to be successful in mastering the objectives. Thank you for your time and help at home!
PRACTICE MULTIPLICATION AND DIVISION MATH FACTS DAILY AT HOME. THERE WILL BE A QUIZ OVER FACTS EVERY FRIDAY!!!
Monday Folders: Students will bring home a folder every Monday with completed work, school notes, discipline and/or praise notes, and informational flyers. Please look through your child's Monday folder, sign, and return with your child on Tuesday.
Student Agendas: Student agendas help with the management of organizational skills everyday. I require students to fill in the math section daily with objective and homework. There is a section at the bottom of each page for parent/teacher communication. Please check daily and feel free to use this tool as a means of communication. Do not hesitate to contact me anytime using the agenda, email, phone, or schedule an appointment during my conference period.
