Corinth Elementary
TENNIS SHOES
Effective for 2006-2007 School Year
Students are to wear TENNIS SHOES to school (or other laced/velcro’d/zipped enclosed rubber soled shoes). Our STARS participate in physical activities daily in P.E. and/or recess. Tennis shoes provide more stability and traction for the children. Gravel and
wood chips from the playground are not a problem for those who wear tennis shoes.
Sandals, flip flops, clogs (and other backless shoes), high heels, wedges, heelies/wheelies, slippers, and slick soled shoes are not appropriate for elementary students at school.
Parents will be called to bring tennis shoes to school if a student does not wear appropriate shoes.
Students not wearing appropriate shoes will not be allowed to participate in recess or P.E. Grades for P.E. are based on participation.
Exceptions will be made for picture day, special occasions/activities and programs.
Children should wear clothing that is age appropriate, modest and allows for movement. We also do lots of messy activities and projects. Keep that in mind when selecting clothes for your child to wear to school.
