SCHOOL PROCEDURES 2007-08
DRESS CODE
TENNIS SHOES – Students will be participating daily in structured physical activity. Students are required to wear tennis shoes to school each day.
DRESS – We expect the children to come to school dressed modestly, comfortably and ready for school work. Clothing that advertises or depicts alcohol, drugs, weapons, violence or other activities for young children are prohibited.
BUILDING SECURITY
We love visitors and volunteers but more than that, we want our students to be safe and able to focus on learning. Because of our concern for your child’s safety, we are implementing the following procedures.
VISITORS and VOLUNTEERS –All adult visitors and volunteers will be required to obtain a visitor’s badge in the office. To obtain a badge, adults must leave their driver’s license with the receptionist in the school office. Licenses will be returned when you return the badge to the office and exit the building. Please help us by telling us your name when you return to the office.
PICKUP TAGS – Plastic Pickup tags will be available in the office. Pickup tags are required if you plan on picking your child up from school (even if only occasionally) in the pickup line behind the school. Only those with the school issued tag will be allowed to pick up their children in the pick up line. All others will be required to come to the office to check their child out of school. Two tags can be issued per family.
HALLWAYS - School hours are 7:50-3:00. It is very disruptive and confusing if parents are in the hallways at the end of the day waiting for their child. If you arrive at school before dismissal and want to come in the school, please wait in the reception area by the office. You may only go to your child’s classroom if you have turned in your driver’s license and obtained a pass.
EARLY PICKUP – On those occasions when you need to pick your child up early please come to the office. We will call your child to the office when you arrive.
DROP OFF and PICK UP
700+ students are dropped off and picked up each day. We need your help to got this done as safely and quickly as possible.
DROP OFF
· Students in K-2 are to be dropped off at the covered play area behind the school.
· Student in 3rd and 4th are to be dropped off at the cafeteria entrance in front of the school.
· Buses drop off at the main entrance.
· Child care drop off is at the main entrance.
PICK UP
· School issued PICKUP Tag is required.
· Parent pick up is behind the school. Please enter at the parking lot by the gym
· Buses pick up is in front of the school.
· Childcare pick up is in the East parking lot. Please notify your childcare center if you are picking your child up from school.
· Parents who want to enter the building to pick up their child should park in the East parking lot and enter through the main entrance. Please follow the procedures that were explained above in BUILDING SECURITY.
