 Summer School

Agenda for June 12 - 13

Thursday - Chapter 1 (7th Grade book) – read aloud together discuss.  Students will fill in all Chapter 1 reinforcement worksheets and grade as we go.
Bikini Bottom Scientific Method worksheet.  
Give Science Tool Test Worksheet so they can study overnight.
Friday -Grade Bikini Bottom together.
Take the Science Tools Test.
Have students use manila paper and copy time line of the discovery of the human body systems. (Page 519)
Read aloud, skeletal system, muscular system, integumenary system, cardiovascular, lymphatic, digestive, urinary, nervous, endocrine, and
respiratory in special body systems books (dark green Life Science Books). Page 520
Assign each student a system to research and have them begin an outline of their system and go to computer lab to begin making a power point of their system.

June 16-20
Monday –Go to Computer Lab to work on their Power Point of selected Body System.  
Present Power Point last hour of class.
Tuesday -  Eboli Video (1 hour)
Lab - “What’s In the Box” lab (1 hour).
Discuss what is matter?
Read silently and answer questions on Chapter 2 in the Eighth Grade Science book.
Wednesday- Make a time-line of atomic theory development.
Video about the Periodic Table.
Periodic Table worksheet.
Begin working on research paper about an element the student has chosen.
Thursday - Finish research paper.
Presentation of research paper.
Watch Video on Periodic Table
Friday - Complete Chapter 2 Review in Eighth Grade Science book, questions 1-15.
Use Eighth Grade CD to review for Chapter 2 Test.
Take Chapter 2 Test on computer and show teacher percentage.

June 23-27
Monday -  Read Chapter 4 in Sixth Grade Science book and complete reinforcement worksheet.
Complete Chapter 4 Review from Book.
Tuesday -  Have students make a brochure of Newton’s Laws of Motion.  They will hand write the brochure using the Seventh Grade Science book as a resource. (1 ½ hours)
Take Chapter 4 Test. (30 mins.)   
Watch Newton’s Laws of Motion Video.
Wednesday - Read about Earth, Sun, and Moon systems in Seventh Grade Science Book, Chapter 24 and fill out reinforcement worksheet. (1 ½ hours)
Do Chapter Review in book. (30 mins.)
Then, “Analyzing a Lunar Calendar” worksheet.
Complete “Sequential Organizer on Moon Phases” worksheet. (1 hour)
Thursday -  Read and discuss, using Power’s class set of skinny green books in cabinet, Cells, Heredity,and Classification pages 4-23.
Complete the “Name That Part” on page 25.
Friday - Complete Chapter 28 in book.
Review in computer lab, Cells Chapter from Seventh Grade CD.
Read and discuss Chapter 3 our of skinny green book, pages 56-69.
Heredity and Environment Lab. (30 mins)
Complete Chapter Review page 74.

June 30 – July 2
Monday – Read and discuss in Power’s class set of Red Earth
books, pages 166-187.
Complete Chapter Review in book.
Watch “Ring of Fire” Video.                
Virtual Lab on “What’s The Matter”.
Seventh Grade CD Review in computer lab.
Test on CD over Chapter 22.
Homework – Complete a Pre-Test over the summer session’s material.
Tuesday -  Go over Review.
Play review Jeopardy using CPS.
Take Final Exam.
Watch Dr. Suess’s “The Lorax”.
Wednesday- Make a poster of ways to reduce pollution.
Present in front of class.
