Fifth Grade Social Studies HOME PROJECT:  Assigned: 4/1/08 ....all social studies students are to make a shoe-box diorama of a topic from World War II.  The topic must be displayed in an average sized shoe-box with cover.  On the inside of the cover, students must write a paragraph describing the topic they have shown in their box.  The diorama is due on Monday, April the 21st.  Students will present their diorama in class on that day.  On April 22nd, all the dioramas will be on display in the homerooms during Open House: 6:30-8:00 PM.  The following are some topics students could use: ATTACK ON PEARL HARBOR, HAWAII BATTLE OF BULGE BATTLE OF CORAL SEA BATTLE OF GUADALCANAL BATTLE OF GILBERT ISLAND BATTLE OF MARSHALL ISLAND BATTLE OF IWO JIM AND OKINAWA D-DAY INVASION-NORMANDY HOLOCAUST ROSIE THE RIVETER-WOMEN AT WORK VETERANS DAY Fifth Six Weeks Inventions New Americans-Immigration Alaska and Hawaii Panama Canal World War I World War II                        Lake Dallas ISD does not discriminate on the basis of age, color, creed, disability, national origin, race, gender, socioeconomic status or English proficiency in its educational programs and activities.
