Current Events this semester: "World News"
Students find a current event of one of the countries of the continent that we are studying. For example, 6th Six Weeks a country in Asia If students cannot find a current event on a Asian country, then bring in a current event on some foreign event happening
TUTORIAL SCHEDULE:
Monday P.M. 4:00-4:30
Tuesday A.M. 8:00-8:30 P.M. 4:00-4:30
Thursday A.M. 8:00-8:30 P.M. 4:00-4:30
In 6th grade World Cultures and Geography students will become world travelers exploring the different cultures and geography of the seven continents/regions. Also, the students will analyze and create the different types of maps using an atlas. Each six weeks students will be given an outline of the unit of study and activities. The students would really enjoy learning from details about the countries and their cultures.
6th Six Weeks:
1st Week: Southern Asia- India
2nd Week: Southeastern Asia - Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand
3rd Week: China - geography 3D map
4th Week: History China and Final Map Project due Friday, May 23
5th Week: Korea and Japan and World Time Zones
6th Week: Review for Semester Exam - Benchmark 6 - World Map Test
Field Trip on May 30
7th Week: Semester Exams June 2nd, 3rd, 4th
