Grading policy: I encourage my students to turn all work in. I will give a student until the end of the six weeks grading period to turn in late work. I will set a cut-off date a couple of days before our grades are due. A late paper will receive no higher than 90% on the day after it is due. It will receive no higher than a 70% any day after that. If a student does not have a homework assignment the day it is due, I will give him until the next day to get it to me on his own. If he does not have it the second day, I will give the student a mandatory tutorial pass to come in and do the work. We frequently watch movies in my
class to coincide with the novels we read. If a student does not show up for tutorials and still has zeros in the gradebook on a day that we watch a movie, the student will have to miss the movie to work on zero work.
