Meet Mrs. Cadenhead
My name is Karen Cadenhead. This is my 5th year at Lake
Dallas Primary. I have 12 years
teaching experience, 8 years with Lewisville ISD and 4 years in Lake
Dallas. During my time at Lewisville, I
taught kindergarten for seven years and second grade for one year. Before coming to teach at Lake Dallas, I
stayed home for 4 years with my younger son and had my own daycare.
I was born in Texas and raised in West Lafayette,
Indiana. I came back to Texas to
graduate from Lake Dallas High School.
I received my Early Childhood Education degree from University of North
Texas in 1989. I am ESL certified and just recently finished my certification
in computer technology.
I have been married to my husband, Don for 14
years. Don is a Material Planner for
Southwest Airlines. We have two sons. Donald Edwin is 12 years old and will be at
the Middle School this year. Justin
Lewis is 8 and attends Corinth Elementary.
We also have two dogs, Ruby and Benji and a cat named Cleo.
I love to teach Kindergarten!! I can’t picture doing anything else. Learning should be fun and I try to make
each child’s first year at school a special one. I look forward to sharing in your child’s educational adventure!
Some of my favorite things are running, swimming,
basketball, watching movies, gardening, hot tea, sunsets, popcorn, picnics,
watching children learn, holidays, eating at the Roadhouse Grill, collecting
children’s books, spending time with my family, and traveling.
