Shortcuts Using Keystrokes

Use the CTRL (control) key + the A key to "select all" - that will highlight everything on your page (so you can cut, copy, or paste large pieces of information)

Use the CTRL (control) key + the Z key to UNDO - this can be a life saver!!!

To Move from ALL CAPS to lower case (& vice versa) - highlight the text, use the "shift" + "F3" keys

Cut, Copy, & Paste - There are several ways to cut, copy & paste text in electronic documents (like WORD, Publisher, FirstClass, etc…)

To Cut text to move it to another place in the document, highlight the text:
- hit the “Ctrl” & “X” keys
- right-click & select CUT
- click on the scissors icon in the taskbar
- or go to the EDIT menu & select CUT

To COPY text you need to highlight the text, then either:
- hit the “Ctrl” & “C” keys
- right-click & select COPY
- click on the clipboard icon in the taskbar
- or go to the EDIT menu & select COPY

To PASTE text that you have copied, put the cursor where you want to place the copied text, either:
- hit the “Ctrl” & “V” keys
- right-click & select PASTE
- click on the paintbrush icon in the taskbar
- or go to the EDIT menu & select PASTE
PowerPoint keystrokes
Hit the B key to turn the screen black (to hide your presentation) - hit it again to go back
Hit the W key to turn the screen white (to hide your presentation) - hit it again to go back  
Hit the F5 button on top row of keys to start a PowerPoint presentation
To go directly to a particular slide number (while in the presentation mode) – type in the number of the slide and press enter

You can also use the arrow keys (instead of a mouse click) to move through a PowerPoint presentation (the left pointing arrow will take you backwards through your presentation).

To create PowerPoint notes handouts:  File/Send To/Microsoft Word/Click on format choice
