Vocabulary-Vocabulary lists will be given to students every Monday and will also be posted on my website.  We briefly review these words every day in class and students will be tested over them on Friday. Spelling-The spelling words are the same words as the vocabulary words, and the quizzes will be given every Thursday. Greek and Latin Roots-Students are given a new list of Greek and Latin roots at the beginning of each six weeks.  They are introduced to four new Greek and Latin roots every Monday and write the roots and their meaning on index cards.  These are reviewed briefly each day, and the students are tested every Friday. Grading Percentages: Daily Work 25% Quizzes 35% Tests and Projects 40% Tutorials:  Tutorials are offered every Monday-Thursday morning and every Monday-Thursday afternoon.  Tutorial buses will be available Monday-Thursday afternoon after Labor Day.   Graded Papers-  Graded papers will be given out every Monday during class.  Each student will have his or her own Language Arts section in their binder.  When I return graded work, the student is expected to store it in his or her folder for the duration of the semester period.  The students are responsible for keeping his or her folder clean and saving all papers.  Please check your child's agenda each week to see what we have been studying in class.  This is a great communication system between you, your child and their teacher.  The semester exam will be cumulative of the retuned papers.  Also, if a grade is questioned, the student will be responsible for producing the paper for a grade or change of grade.
