I thank each and every one of you for being in my class this year, and for making my first year in 5th grade one I will always remember. I have been so lucky to have a great group of kids like you to teach. Thanks again for being wonderful! I know that sixth grade will be a blast. Please come back and visit me anytime you wish! I look forward to seeing you!

*Homeroom-Homeroom is a very important part of our day at LDI. Now that we are in a comfortable flow with our school year, we at LDI have started a tutoring program. There is Science and Math tutoring available for your child during homeroom time. In our class, your child has the opportunity to go to tutoring 4 days a week. If you would like for your child to go to tutoring daily, please contact me so I can make a note of it!

*Multiplication facts- In all of our math classes at LDI, a timed multiplication test is taken once weekly. Two of the six grades will be entered in the grade book as test grades starting this six weeks. Please practice multiplication facts nightly with you child. There is a place on the WOW for you to initial when you practiced your child's facts with him/her. If you don't have flash cards, your child has a multiplication chart that he/she can make his/her own flashcards from, or, Dollar Tree or Dollar General has sets for $1 each.

*PTA Popcorn- Our wonderful PTA has put together a Teacher Appreciation fundraiser for the students. There is one Friday a month where your child can buy popcorn to eat during homeroom for .50 a bag. The next popcorn date will be announced later. Kids can buy popcorn in advance for all of the dates if they wish. Any questions? Please e-mail me!

*Parent conferences- I truly appreciate those of you who have constant contact with me regarding your child. I have already had the privilege of several parent conferences. I love to have contact with my students' parents, because it keeps me assured that we're all on the same page with everything. If you can't come to a conference in person, I'll be happy to do a phone conference, or we can even communicate by e-mail if that's more convenient. If you happen to send me an e-mail, I'll respond within 24 hours. I do have almost 60 students, after all!
