Once you have set up your home page - we will make a master copy of that page called the PROFILE page so we can create the other web pages for your web site so you don't have to set up the navigation and color scheme on every additional page you create. The Master copy will be referred to as the "profile"
page
While in the Home Page folder on the FirstClass desktop:
Make sure that NOTHING is highlighted in the Home Page folder
(click in a blank spot in the Home Page folder to remove all highlights),
· Right-click the “Home Page” file and select "COPY to Folder" > Scroll down and select the "Web Publishing" folder and then click "OK"
· This will create a copy/template of the Home Page
· Double-click on the Copy of the Home Page and change the "Page Link Name" to "Profile" - this will serve as the master copy for any additional pages you want to create.
· Erase any of the information in the body of the "Profile" and then copy this page for each button you created in your "Top Navigation" strip (i.e. if you added links to a calendar page, homework page, and class pictures page -you will need to copy the "Profile" page three times and rename each page for each link)
· HINT: Click on the "Navigation" tab to see what each page should be named (LOOK IN THE "LINK PATH" column for the names for each new page;
- if you added links to a page called "Calendar" (display name) and called it "calendar" in the LINK PATH column - you need to name the newly created page "calendar"
- if you added links to a page called "Homework" (display name) and called it "homework" in the LINK PATH column - you need to name the newly created page "homework"
- if you added links to a page called "Class Pictures" (display name) and called it "pictures" in the LINK PATH column - you need to name the newly created page "pictures" - REMEMBER!!!! USE ONLY ONE WORD NAMES FOR THE "LINK PATH" OR USE UNDERSCORES_TO_BRIDGE_GAPS_BETWEEN_WORDS - KEEP DIPSLAY NAMES SIMPLE (See screen shot below)
