EXCEL Students and Parents-
Can you believe how fast the summer has flown? It really hit home when I saw school supplies in stores earlier this month. Speaking of, if you would add the following supplies to your list for EXCEL:
1 spiral 70 pages or more
1 folder with pockets
1 pack of loose leaf paper (wide rule)
$5.00 for Winston Science registration
The incoming fourth grade boat is still not finished. They lack one of the pontoons... remind them to bring supplies to finish the project, or they cannot compete. The incoming 3rd grade boat is almost finished. It only lacks a seat and seam re-inforcement.
Dr. Marks has posted the Winston Science calendar for this year's events. Please click on the Winston Science button at the top of the page and select calendar from the left hand list. If you click on photos, you can see pictures from past years. It is not too early to see what all you are wanting to do!
Remember that I require you to participate in at least one team event and no more than three (individual or team) events can be entered. This is my suggestion, as the time it takes in and out of class is a lot more than the kids ever think it will be! Each child will be responsible for presenting their projects to both their EXCEL and regular classrooms this year.
I hope you got a lot of your projects done this summer. I got several done that weren't even on my list! Woooo hooooo!
See you in a few weeks!

Parents:
Your undying support for the EXCEL program and me is unequaled.
I am eternally grateful.
Thank you. :o)
PEP
Surface Tension experiments were a HUGE success! Several children were able to make a paper clip float! Really! The students had a great time identifying which airplane design flew the furthest. Each student graphed their individual results. We put our brains together and solved many really hard puzzles at the end.
I had a BLAST getting to know and serving your children!
