No more spelling tests this year!  Have a great summer!

Here are some different Spelling activities you can do at home:
·       Pick 10 of the words and write them in alphabetical order
·       Write each spelling word without its vowels.  Replace each vowel with a line:  c_ld.
·       Write your words in shaving cream.
·       Write your spelling words in crayon.  Write each consonant letter in blue and each vowel in red.
·       Rainbow write your words.
·       Spell your words into a tape recorder.
·       Write each word in numbers.  Find each letter on a telephone keypad and write the corresponding number for each letter.
·       Use each spelling word in a sentence.
·       Spell your words in Morse Code.
·       Use pipe cleaners, rolled modeling clay or Play-Doh, broken-up spaghetti noodles, or yarn to spell out your words.
·       Use your spelling words to write a short story.
·       Cut out large letters from headlines or ads in newspapers or magazines.  Use the letters to spell your words.  Paste the letters on a large sheet of paper.

These and other ideas came from the Education World website at http://www.eduation-world.com/a_lesson/02/lp282-01.shtml
