Kindergarten concepts to be taught before September 19:

Counting to 20:
Practice orally counting by ones to 20.

Describing Relative Sizes of Sets 0-5:
Given two sets of real objects or concrete objects, describe the size of the sets using one-to-one correspondence and words such as more than, less than, same number as, etc.

Representing Sets 0-5:
Use concrete objects such as counters to represent a quantity that is given in verbal or written form.

Describing Sets 0-5:
Given a set of objects, verbally and symbolically describe how many objects are in the set.

Joining and Separating Sets 0-5:
Model and create addition and subtraction problems in real situations with concrete objects.

Using the Problem Solving Model with Addition and Subtraction Problem Situations:
1-Understand the Problem.
2-Make a Plan.
3-Carry out the Plan.
4-Evaluate the Solution for Reasonableness.

Math Vocabulary for CC #1:  
Next, Exactly, Total Number, Set, Same Number, Are Left, How Many?, Away, More, More Than, Joining (+), Separating (-), Explain your thinking.

Fact Fluency Program Focus:
Use one-to-one correspondence to describe sizes of sets of concrete objects.
Use manipulatives to build sets and match numbers to those sets.
Use numbers to describe how many objects are in a set through 5.
Identify numbers to 20 on a number line.
