Late Work Guidelines
The mission of Lake Dallas Independent School District is to provide a quality education so that students may reach their full academic and social potential. In the spirit of our mission and in keeping with board policy, the following criteria are to serve as guidelines for calculating grades for late work.
Assignment turned in any time during Full Credit
the day in which it is due
On the 1st day after assignment is due Maximum of 10 point deduction
From the 2nd day the assignment is late, Maximum of 30 point deduction
until a date determined by previously
established guidelines approved
by the principal and disseminated to
students
Assignments turned in after the Grade of zero may be assigned
approved date
Except for extenuating circumstances,
late work will not be accepted after the
end of the 5th week of any six weeks
grading period.

Late Work Guidelines
All work is expected to be turned in on the due date designated by the teacher. Work turned in any time on that day will be awarded full credit. After five school days a zero may be recorded in the grade book. The student has until the end of the fifth week of the six-week grading period to make up the work and have the zero changed to the grade received on the late work.
The following is an explanation of how points may be deducted when work is late:
Assignment turned in 1 school day late Maximum of 10 point deduction
Assignment turned in 2 school days late Maximum of 30 point deduction
Assignment turned in 3 school days late Maximum of 30 point deduction
Assignment turned in 4 school days late Maximum of 30 point deduction
Assignment turned in 5 school days late Maximum of 30 point deduction
A grade of zero may be recorded in the grade book for any assignment not turned in by the sixth school day.
